Most recently at Google, I made novel advancements at intersection of engineering and design that became the visual design language of Android, then Google, as the award-winning Material You design system. Open source on GitHub. Intro @ Science of Color & Design.

Specifically, I invented & shipped a Pantone-like digital color space that adjusts for lighting conditions, a image extraction algorithm 1000x than state of the art at the time, scientific methods for complementary and analogous colors, and 20 other things you would have thought already existed.

This enabled a leap forward: an infinity of personal yet beautiful color schemes, built by an algorithm, guaranteeing accessibility. More important was make it sustainable and collaborative: creating tooling and relationships that kept design involved, creative, fun, and validatible in an algorithmic world of infinite possibilities.
